vegan waffles

  • 1 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk + 1 tsp white or apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive, canola or melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup agave nectar or maple syrup (or honey if not vegan)
  • heaping 1/2 cup gluten free rolled oats
  • 1 3/4 cups
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt

  1. Combine almond milk and vinegar in a small mixing bowl and let set for a few minutes to curdle/activate. Then add olive oil, agave nectar or maple syrup and whisk. Set aside.
  2. Add dry ingredients to a large mixing bowl and whisk until well combined.
  3. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until well incorporated. Test batter for sweetness and flavor. Add more sweetener or some vanilla extract if you want. I added a touch more agave.
  4. Let set for 5-10 minutes while your waffle iron preheats. (I set mine to 4 out of 5 for a crispier waffle, but adjust yours according to preference.)
  5. Once waffle iron is ready, spray on non-stick spray and pour on about 1/2 cup of batter. Cook according to manufacturer instructions and then remove and place on a baking rack in a 200 degree oven to keep warm. Do not stack and instead keep them in a single layer to ensure crispiness remains. Then put maple syrup.

You could enjoy this for breakfast one day. its gluten free and very healthy. Sometimes I like to enjoy this before I work out. I usually eat this with some almond milk or a nice smoothie. It gives you good calories to work out and energy.

why you should buy vegan beauty products?

By choosing vegan beauty products you will definitely be avoiding dead animal by-products from touching your skin. Which could irritate your skin. These by-products include things like uric acid extracted from cows, dead insect extracts, beeswax and other harmful stuff. Vegan cosmetics and accessories come with packaging that has been made from recycled materials. Vegan brands are known to be extremely cautious about their packaging designs and materials. Also they are cheaper. you also dont give money to the cruel companies
that test on animals.
This is what animals go through for your product.

A brave young woman decided to undergo the same tests that the

animals undergo in testing for cosmetics, soaps and other beauty

products. she had to go through mouth torn, products in the

eye, electrodes placed on the head, shaving the skul. The experiment

took place in the English Lush Store. I think this was a great way

to spread awarness.

This is so cruel and I cant wrap my mind that this is legal. There

are so many amazing cruelty free brand on the market. You do not

need to harm an animal for beauty.

Here is a list of cruelty free makeup brands:

Hopefully you recognize some brands and take into consideration to

support these brands instead of the ones that test on animals.Buying

cruelty free makeup is better for your skin and better for the

animals.

How do we really get milk?

For many people, dairy farming makes it look like small herds of cows grazing on open fields. Most milk is produced by cows raised in intensive production systems called factory farms. Some cows are housed indoors year-round, and lactating cows are often kept restrained tied up in stalls.

Although they don’t reach mature size until at least 4 years old, dairy cows first give birth at about 2 years of age and are usually bred again beginning at about 60 days after giving birth, to maintain a yearly schedule. 1 Each year, approximately one quarter of the cows who survive the farms are sent to slaughter, most often due to reproductive problems. Cows can live more than 20 years, however they’re usually slaughtered and used to produce ground beef at about 5 years of age. Most dairy calves are removed from their mothers immediately after birth. The males are mainly sold for veal or castrated and raised for beef. “Bob veal” calves are killed as soon as a few days after birth; those used to produce “special-fed veal” are typically kept tethered in individual stalls until slaughtered at about 16 to 20 weeks of age. Each year hundreds of thousands of these female calves die between 48 hours and 8 weeks of age because of digestive problems.

factory farming:

why its bad for the environment, people and the economy.

If you don't know what a factory farm is it is where large numbers of livestock are raised indoors in conditions intended to maximize production at minimal cost. It doesn't just affect the animals, it affects all of us. Huge meat companies have steadily driven down the prices farmers receive for the livestock they raise. Small farms have been replaced by factory farms that pollute the air and water. The meat industry tells consumers that factory farms are modern, efficient and produce cheap food. But factory farms leave consumers with fewer choices and make them pay more for meat and dairy products, while farmers get paid less. Factory farms increase the risk of E. coli and salmonella that cause deadly illness in people. Chickens and hogs on factory farms have no access to the outdoors, fresh air or natural light. Cattle on factory farms do not graze on pasture. And the pressure put on animals to grow quicker and produce more meat or milk results in lots of health problems. Most of the egg- laying hens peck each other because they are so frustrated  of living in these horrible conditions they get a heated blade and partially amputate their beaks. This is equal to if you cut your fingers down to the knuckle. Sometimes it is so painful they cannot eat and just starve. This is a picture of a chicken getting her beak chopped off.

There are so many horrible things animals go through for just food on your plate. This is why people go vegan, to stop supporting the torturing of animals. Animals cant speak up for themselves and when they act out they are put down. Being vegan is not only fighting for animal rights but it is also healthier for you and your body and for the earth.

Is being vegan more expensive?

A majority of people think vegans are like rich or something, but the fact is eating a plant based diet is not that expensive. Yes fruits and veggies cost money. Especially when they're not in season. But vegans don't have to spend money on meat or chicken or any kind of animal flesh. You could actually save money going vegan.

Americans spend so much money on meat. Its insane when u actually put it in to perspective. Tips on how to save even more money than what you would already be saving if you went vegan. First tip is buy fruits that are in season. They'll be so much cheaper and taste so so good. Another tip if to shop at trader joe's. They have so many great deals and its easy to see whats vegan because they put a giant V on the packaging. You don't have to shop at whole foods but if you do the frozen vegan section is your best friend. Amy's Vegan pizza is cheap and taste so good and is a quick meal. So you save money going vegan and help the enviroment AND its great for your body.

Cows milk belongs to cows

Why milk is bad for you

We grew up to believe milk is good for you and your bones, when infact is ti the complete opposite. Im not talking about any milk, but milk that comes from other animals. Milk now isnt what it used to be back then. Milk is now a prcessed food. Back then milk used to be consumed unpazturized or raw. Now milk has a ton of chemicals in it like antibiodics used to give the cattle, also there are so many hormones in milk it is horrible for your body. If its not your mom its not your milk. Cows milk belongs to cows. Humans are the only animals in the world that takes anothers animals milk for consumption. We are only suppose to drik our mothers milk. Cows milk is made to make a 65 pound calf into a 400 pound adult cow. Also we barely take in calcium in cowns milk. Studies have shown that milk can actually create osteoporosis. Dermatologists have actaully seen a connection with milk and acne and did a study and yes milk does cause acne and or weight gain because it is not meant for us to consume. A good alternative is almond milk or cashew milk. No animals are harmed in the making of them and they taste delicious and are great for our body.

My favorite vegan places

There are so many vegan places but I'm going to share with you some of my favorites and how I discovered them. Well one weekend I was sleeping over my friends house and we woke up and wanted to go somewhere to eat. One of my friends suggested hop, the only thing vegan at ihop is their breakfast potatoes so me and my 3 other vegan friends said no. We decided to go and drive around trying to find a place. We couldnt find anything so we googled vegan restaurnt in my area and we found our soon to be favorite restaurant. Its called temple kitchen and its right next to one of our favorite vegan pizza place. The workers at temple kitchen are so nice and friendly and its a cozy little cafe with amazing food. Ever since that weekend me and my friends have gone back every weeek to try something new off the menu. My favorite thing ive eaten there is their acai bowl which is a ton of fruit ontop of this acai fruit smoothie. Very simple but its delicious. We also love going to mellow mushroom which is three doors down from temple kitchen. They make the best veggie burger and vegan pizza.
